Administration

Battelle Developmental Inventory, 2nd Edition Normative Update (BDI-2™ NU) administration is flexible and may begin in any of the five domains. The start point for each subdomain is clearly identified and is determined by the age or the estimated ability level of the child. Examiners then proceed through each of the subdomains to determine the child’s level of development.

BDI-2 NU items are child friendly and easy to administer, with clear and efficient item-scoring criteria. Based on the multifaceted information from Structured, Observational, and Interview items, BDI-2 NU can be used by an individual or team of professionals to create a comprehensive picture of a child’s skills. “Scripting” helps ensure administration consistency but also allows the examiner flexibility to query where necessary to ensure sufficient information is gathered.

Scoring & Reporting

Scoring may be done by hand or using BDI-2 NU Data Manager. This application allows users to quickly enter a child’s demographic and assessment data. Individuals can enter raw scores or item detail information and then generate useful individual and group reports.

BDI-2 NU Data Manager allows for scoring based on both the BDI-2 and the BDI-2 NU, as both norm groups are available. If you still use the BDI-2 and have not yet converted to the BDI-2 NU, you can still score using Data Manager.
